Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Regional Office – Palestine & Jordan celebrates its 10th anniversary in Palestine

 

2018 marked 10 years since the establishment of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Regional Office – Palestine and Jordan in Palestine. On this occasion, the office organised a reception on 6th of December, joined by partners and friends and a delegation of the parliamentary group Die Linke who were visiting with the aim of having a deeper look about situation Palestinians have been facing under occupation.

Ute Beuck, Head of Office at RLS welcomed the guests and mentioned that the Palestine office was one of the first RLS offices to open in the world. Gabriele Kickut, Deputy Director at Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung headquarters office in Berlin expressed her delight to be part of this occasion and shared Rosa-Luxemburg’s worldwide vision of a future society that rests on the full realisation of democratic and social rights for all people. Heike Haensel head of the delegation of parliamentary group who was visiting Palestineو congratulated the office on their 10 years anniversary, and extended her regards to the Palestinian people, and emphasized the importance of having this office in Palestine.

It is worth mentioning that Rosa Luxemburg was established in Palestine in 2008 as an institution that aims to enhance and support political education. Since 2014, it expanded to Jordan making the institution the Regional Office Palestine & Jordan. Its work focuses on supporting local institutions working on political education, in addition to that, it publishes numerous studies and publications.
