Addressing the International Criminal Court: Legal and political challenges and expectations

RLS conducted a round table on “Addressing the International Criminal Court: Legal and Political Challenges and Expectations” on 4 February 2015. The speakers focused on the legal and political challenges and expectations after the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) decision to sign the Rome Statue.  Ms. Valentina Azarova, an expert in the field of ICC, suggested that the PA should take further steps to make the sign of Rome statue more useful, otherwise it will continue to be symbolic action. Mr. Shawan Jabareen, General Director of Al Haq organization, focused on the political results for the PA’s unilateral move. Participants with political and legal backgrounds presented several suggestions and contributions and asked the speakers several questions related to the topic.
