    Lecture and discussion with Ms. Valentina Azarova, Assistant Professor in the MA in Human Rights & Democracy Program at Birzeit University and research consultant on Gaza for Amnesty International, and Mr. Shawan Jabareen, General Director of Al-Haq and Vice President of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), on the subject: Addressing the International Criminal Court: Legal and Political Challenges and Expectations.

    Film screening

    The Film “GAZA calling” produced by Nahed Awad highlight the situation of Gazians living in the West Bank breaking the Israeli regulations and laws. After screening the film, the producer and one of the participants answered the questions and commented on the feedback from the audience.

    Tasharouk, RLS Partner, developed a play focusing on social justice issues. The team that was involved in this play were mainly Jordanian youth that have deep commitment to social justice issues.  The play was shown at different universities in Jordan.

    Social justice in Jordan: Laying a foundation for social justice discussions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

    Identity Center held a launch workshop to present its research on social justice in Jordan. At the event, which was held at 7iber in Jabal Amman, presenters Eng. Khaled Ramadan, Lawyer Noor al Imam, and Dr. Fakhir Daas, provided their insights on social justice before opening up the floor for Q and A and discussion.

    Festival

    Qalandiya International was named for the refugee camp and old village just beyond the wall that separates Jerusalem from the camp, Ramallah and the rest of the West Bank. The festival comprises dozens of events — exhibitions, lectures, discussion panels, tours, screenings and street activities. RLS participated in supporting the event.

    Our partner Union of Agriculture Work Committees (UAWC) held a national workshop to review the recommendation of research: “Impact of the Israeli Occupation on the Implementation of Climate Change Adaptation Mechanisms for the Agricultural Sector in ‘C’ Areas of the West Bank.”
